Question 1 of 5

Over the past 6 months, how do you rate your confidence that you could get and keep an erection?

How SHIM scores are read

The SHIM (Sexual Health Inventory for Men) adds five answers for a total of 5 to 25. 22 to 25: no erectile dysfunction. 17 to 21: mild. 12 to 16: mild to moderate. 8 to 11: moderate. 5 to 7: severe.

How IPSS scores are read

The IPSS (International Prostate Symptom Score) adds seven answers for a total of 0 to 35. 0 to 7: mild symptoms. 8 to 19: moderate. 20 to 35: severe. A separate question asks how much the symptoms bother you, which often matters more than the score.

What to do with your score

A score is a starting point, not a diagnosis. Write it down and bring it to your visit. Your answers on this page aren't sent to anyone.
